Call For Papers

The Journal of Buddhist Philosophy invites submissions on any topic in the field of Buddhist philosophy. Please upload submissions under “submissions” on this website or send them to [email protected]

Topics can include but are not limited to metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of language, and ethics. Submissions that explore the work of Buddhist thinkers as well as Buddhist concepts, world views, and categories are especially encouraged. It is the intention of the editorial team to include articles from a variety of geographical regions as well as Buddhist schools and traditions. In addition, we invite scholars to guest edit special editions that focus on one particular topic within the field of Buddhist philosophy.

The ideal submission is philosophical in nature with its sources and argument grounded in the Buddhist tradition. While it is not a requirement that the author is affiliated with any academic institution, the article itself is expected to follow academic criteria. The language of publication is English. However, we also invite submissions in other languages such as Chinese or Japanese and will work with the author to find a suitable translator. Submissions are expected to follow the Chicago Manual of Style. Once an article is submitted, it will undergo a blind review process before it is admitted for publication.
